Partner: James D. Boldrey, CPA:

Jim is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University and has been in public accounting for over fifty years.  Jim is a member of both the Association of International Certified Public Accountants as well as the Michigan Association of CPAs.  During his career, Jim has provided a variety of services to his clients including auditing, accounting, and tax services.  He has also assisted clients in negotiating and obtaining bank financing, construction bonding, and prepared MDOT prequalification packages for clients in the construction industry.  While Jim has started the process of retiring, he continues to provide consulting services to a small group of clients and remains active on the Board of Trustees of Alpena Community College Foundation.  He is past President and Treasurer of the Board of Directors of the Alpena Country Club, past President of Northeast Michigan Development Company and a past President of the Alpena Chamber of Commerce.  During his career, Jim has been an active fundraising volunteer for many nonprofit organizations serving the greater Alpena area.

 

Partner: Albert R. Senchuk, CPA:

Al is a graduate of Central Michigan University and has been in public accounting for over forty years.  Al provides tax and accounting services to business, individuals, estates, trusts and non-profit organizations.  Prior to joining the firm in 1992, Al spent 10 years in the tax department of a “Big Eight” accounting firm and 4 years as the Director of Taxes for a Fortune 500 company.  Al is especially known for his in-depth tax knowledge and shares his knowledge by providing tax update seminars in the community.  During his career, he has volunteered for many organizations including the Alpena Community College Foundation Gift Planning Alliance Committee, the Business Support Team of the Alpena Downtown Development Association, served as Treasurer of the Alpena Hockey Association and Alpena Babe Ruth Baseball League, President of the Board of Directors of the Alpena Area Senior Citizens Council and volunteered on the Alpena Regional Medical Center Planned Gifts Committee.  Al is an avid golfer and is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Alpena Country Club.  In 2009, Al was inducted into the Alpena Sports Hall of Fame, recognized for his exceptional speed in all four sports that he played.  Professionally, Al is a member of both the Association of International Certified Public Accountants and Michigan Association of CPAs. 

 

Partner: Julie A. Rouleau, CPA:

Julie is a graduate of Lake Superior State University and achieved her CPA certification in 2004.  She joined the firm in 1996 and provides tax, accounting, payroll, financial reporting and computer write-up services to businesses, individuals and nonprofit organizations.  Julie has been a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor since 2003 and assists clients in the set-up and efficient use of QuickBooks.  She manages the payroll services area of the firm and has expertise in multi-state payroll processing and related taxes, office management procedures, accounting systems, and enjoys the complexities of flow-through entity taxation.  Julie currently serves as the President of the Zonta Club of Alpena/Tri-County, and is a member of the MyMichigan Medical Center - Alpena Planned Gifts Committee.  Prior to joining the firm, Julie held accounting, management, and computer programming positions in the Alpena area.  Julie is a member of both the Association of International Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of CPAs. 

 

Partner: Marie F. Williams, CPA:

Marie is a cum-laude graduate of Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and has been a CPA for 39 years.  She joined the firm in 2002 and serves businesses, individuals, other CPA firms and nonprofit organizations, providing tax, accounting, financial statement, audit assistance and construction industry consulting services.  Having worked in the CFO/Controller role for the construction industry for over 10 years, Marie has additional specialized knowledge in construction contractors.  Another of Marie’s specialty areas is not-for-profit organizations, having performed financial statement audits in this arena for many years.    Active in the community, Marie is currently governance chair of the MyMichigan Medical Center – Alpena Board of Trustees, having been a board member since 2011, a member of the MyMichigan Health System Audit Committee, and member of the Alpena Rotary Club.  Marie has working knowledge of the German language and has traveled abroad.  Over her career, she has participated in various volunteer roles for organizations such as Alpena Community College Foundation, Art in the Loft, Secretary of the Alpena Rotary Club and also taught accounting part-time at Alpena Community College.  Established in 1982 to honor the achievements of exceptional women leaders and to inspire others, Marie was the 2010 Alpena ATHENA Award recipient.  Marie is a member of the Association of International CPAs and Michigan Association of CPAs.

Professional Staff

Leora L Prue, CPA, a 1999 accountancy graduate of Walsh College, joined the firm in 2020 and achieved her CPA certification in 2002.  Leora has both public accounting and industry experience, having worked in the hospitality industry for 15 years.  She provides accounting, tax and other attestation services to the firm’s varied clients. She has experience with tax preparation, write-up and payroll, and assists clients in managing their business and finances.  Leora is a member of both the Association of International Certified Public Accountants and the Michigan Association of CPAs.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

     

Lisa M VanHorn, staff accountant, initially joined the firm in 2003 as an accounting intern while completing her bachelor's degree in accounting at Lake Superior State University. Lisa specializes in the write-up and payroll areas of our practice, along with the preparation of tax returns for individuals and businesses. She is familiar with the complexities of multi-state payroll and income taxes and is very proficient with QuickBooks, having achieved the QuickBooks Pro Advisor designation.  Lisa volunteers in the community, most notably as the Treasurer of Zonta Tri County.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sherri L. Roskey, staff accountant, graduated from Northwood University, receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration degree after completing her associate degrees from Alpena Community College.  Sherri had worked for the firm in 2010 as tax season support staff and after working as an accountant in industry, she returned to the firm as a staff accountant in 2016.  Sherri’s responsibilities at the firm include supervision of the firm’s payroll processing services as well as payroll tax preparation, tax return preparation, trust/conservatorship accounting, write-up services, and budget preparation.  While she aspires to be a CPA, she is currently studying for the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation to support the firm’s payroll processing service line.  

 

 

 

 

Tori J Gentry, staff accountant, graduated from Northwood University in December 2021 with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and business management and she aspires to become a CPA.  She joined the firm in 2019 in a part-time role during tax season while completing her associate’s degree in accounting from Alpena Community College. Tori is looking forward to learning about accounting in practice and applying her education and knowledge to benefit the firm and our clients.  Tori is applying her education through payroll processing, writeup work, and entering data in tax preparation. 

 

 

 

 

Administrative Clerical Staff

 

 Brittany N Gerow, office administrator, a magna-cum laude graduate of Alpena Community College, joined the firm in 2018 while completing her associate’s degree in Business Management.  During her time at ACC, she served as Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Brittany’s skills related to innovation and business knowledge benefit the firm and its clients.  Brittany ensures the office operates efficiently and smoothly in a deadline-driven environment.  

 

 

 

 

 
 

Lori Szatkowski, office assistant, graduated from Alpena Community College in 2008 with an associate’s degree in network administration. Lori has worked in accounting for over 6 years and has experience in tax preparation and payroll services. She recently joined the firm and is looking forward to assisting the firm and clients.
